At the dawn of a new era, where technology reshapes our reality and identity, the exhibition - On the Critical Point: Wanderlust and Nostalgia in the New Age invites artists from around the globe to explore these themes. This joint effort, led by VSDesign, ALT Alliance, and DesignPhiladelphia, seeks to evoke contemplation and connection, blending humanistic traditions with an increasingly post-human world.

The exhibition, hosted at the iconic 90-foot tall Penn Museum Asia Rotunda with monumental Asian art in Philadelphia, will delve into two profound emotions: wanderlust and nostalgia. In this context, wanderlust transcends mere travel; it's the human desire to explore the digital future, a world where technology dominates every facet of existence. Nostalgia, in contrast, reflects a yearning for simpler, human-centric times. Together, these emotions form a dialogue about what it means to be human as we stand on the threshold of a future shaped by artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and advanced technologies.

Each artist selected for this exhibition will engage with these themes, asking difficult questions: How does technology redefine identity? What does memory mean in a digital age? How will our experiences evolve as the boundary between humanity and technology blurs?

Opening on November 3, 2024, the exhibit promises to showcase innovative works of art that challenge the audience to rethink their relationship with the future, the past, and their own identity. Acclaimed artists like Tone Wang and Hongtao Sun, will lead the Opening & Roundtable Summit, bringing their unique perspectives on art, design, and technology.

Participants in this exhibit will receive unprecedented exposure, from media coverage across over 100 global outlets to exclusive networking opportunities with leading figures in art, design, and academia. With private artist meetings, curated exhibitions, and discussions on a global scale, On the Critical Point is more than an exhibit—it's a movement.

Artists across disciplines are encouraged to submit their work, contributing to a collective examination of the future of art and humanity. As VSDesign and ALT Alliance continue their mission to integrate art and technology, this exhibition stands as a bold statement on the evolving human condition.
