What is the JADE Fellowship Capstone Project?

The JADE Felllowship Capstone Project is a comprehensive endeavor that requires the Fellows to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout their program, and bring that knowledge and skills back to their community. These projects vary based on individual or community interests and goals but can include presentations, case studies, social events, creative works, group forums, project proposals, research proposals, or any demonstration that showcases a particular interest stemming from your summer experience.

Capstone projects are immersive and provide an opportunity to develop skills in the Fellows' chosen area of interest, as well as to acquire new ones. They may require collaboration with peers, enhancing soft skills for both professional and personal growth.

To recap the summer conversations led by the Posse Foundation, below are the things that were brainstormed as expectations for the JADE Summer Fellowship. The Fellows used these as inspiration and “north stars” as they began to ideate about what their capstone project could be:

·      Stick together through the small and big things

·      Everyone to become more empowered in their own ability

·      Not be strangers after this experience

·      Our friendships become meaningful and last a long time

·      Fulfillment of all expectations

·      Hope everyone gets the most of their potential

·      Learn from one another

·      Camaraderie

·      Lots of ideas. Flex creative muscles

·      Build strong bonds and connections that will last throughout careers
