We asked some of DesignPhiladelphia's closest advocates and our favorite Philadelphians to reflect on 20 years of the DesignPhiladelphia Festival. We are grateful for each of these folks for taking the time to share their thoughts with us. Including, our co-founders Hilary Jay and Jamer Hunt.
We trust that 2024 has been treating you well. This year has been a monumental one for us, marked by our exciting rebranding from the Center for Architecture and Design to DesignPhiladelphia. This transformation has been seamless, invigorating our community with a more inclusive and collaborative spirit.
As we celebrate our 20th year, we are thrilled to partner with over 70 event collaborators and host numerous exhibitions during our 10-day festival. The pinnacle of our celebration is the return of the Beaux Arts Ball at the historic Lynnewood Hall on Saturday, November 2nd. Additionally, join us for the Kickoff Party on Tuesday, October 1st at Cherry Street Pier, which will be free and open to all.
Design is synonymous with iteration, and DesignPhiladelphia embodies this ethos. Our journey has led us to introduce a significant change: moving our large-scale installations at Cherry Street Pier to a biennial format. Next year, we look forward to hosting a themed symposium with global experts, discussing the transformative power of design on our city, region, and world.
