In September of 2020, Brickworks North America, the parent company of Glen-Gery, announced the grand opening of its first North American Design Studio in Philadelphia. Since the launch of this studio three years ago, two more Design Studios have been opened in New York City and Baltimore to service their thriving local metropolitan architectural and design communities.
Located at the corner of Walnut and Juniper Streets, the modern studio offers the architects and designers a premium experience where they can collaborate on projects, select from a broad product portfolio of high-end, stylish Glen-Gery bricks, and engage in industry and networking events.
Design-focused industry professionals choose to build with brick over other building materials due to brick’s many benefits – including its design flexibility, durability, energy efficiency, and more. Available in a variety of colors, textures, sizes, and shapes, brick is a multi-dimensional building material that can add history and personality to any project.
The Philadelphia Design Studio is a stunning 3,500 square foot space on the first floor of the historic Witherspoon building, which is known for its distinctive architectural details.
Inspired by Philadelphia's old-world charm, the retail storefront features traditional products that are synonymous with the city, as well as modern, sleek options like Venetian glass bricks and long linear clay brick products.
The Design Studio team consists of highly qualified staff who bring a variety of design and building product experience. The Philadelphia team will provide expert color consultations to architects, interior designers and consumers who are embarking on a new building or renovation project.
As leader in the industry and innovation, Glen-Gery hosts regular educational events and informative presentations its Brickworks Design Studios, where esteemed speakers have the opportunity to educate and engage industry professionals about designing with brick. Events are held monthly in each studio with the opportunity for attendees to earn continuing education credits such as AIA and SARA.
