Old City Creative Block Party

Join Old City for a day of art, design, craft, culture and community during Design Week in Philadelphia!

For one day, 3rd Street between Arch and Race Streets will become a vibrant outdoor festival bringing together local galleries, museums, studios, designers, makers, retailers and creative businesses. Participating organizations will bring their creative worlds outside through installations, exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, interactive experiences, performances, music and more.

Explore the neighborhood and discover what makes Old City such a unique creative destination. Participating businesses and cultural institutions include Minima, Philadelphia’s premier design gallery featuring European furniture, lighting and home accessories; Parisa Rugs & Decor, a boutique rug and design gallery celebrating handcrafted design, responsible sourcing and sustainability; Biello Martin Studio, an art, theatre, music studio and creative sanctuary; and the Museum for Art in Wood, an internationally recognized institution dedicated to contemporary art in wood.

Visitors can also explore Claudia Mills Rugs, known for contemporary, vibrant and custom site-specific rugs; MoA, a six-floor immersive and interactive art experience created by more than 100 local artists and led by creative visionary Meg Saligman; Snail, featuring vintage, handmade and sustainable goods with a focus on slow fashion; and Curator Collective, bringing together creative objects and works for discovery.

The festival will also include More Than Old, featuring barware and decorative arts ranging from vintage to contemporary; the Betsy Ross House, a historic house museum; Muse Gallery, Philadelphia’s oldest artists’ cooperative, founded in 1977 and home to artists working across a range of media and styles; and Petit Jardin en Ville, a modern French lifestyle brand bringing floral design and outdoor living together. And for families with children DesignPhiladelphia's Kidsfest is hosting various creative community partners that will offer some fun STEM activities for kids while parents learn more about the partners' free educational programming throughout the year.
