One of the mission of DesignPhiladelphia is to show everyone how design affects every facet of our lives, and food is no exception. From beautiful branding and presentation to an entire city’s food system, there are people, designers, behind our food.

In Good Taste: An Introduction to Food Design - Hungry Education

Food Design is an interdisciplinary exploration of food in all its facets. The practice attracts designers from all backgrounds and training and ranges from product design to restaurant concept design to branding, packaging, and digital storytelling. As our world continues to move further and further into a digital existence, food is the universal experience that connects us to each other and our physical environments.

This interactive talk will include a collaborative, agile food design concept challenge and showcase emerging local food brands (snacks!). Tickets come with a complimentary copy of FDzeeN magazine, a collaborative magazine published independently by a global network of food designers.

PROCESS: Discovering the commonality across design - Linden Ave Studio + Collab

Have you ever had the urge to create...well anything? Linden Ave Studio, in partnership with Collab, will be hosting intimate discussion panels deciphering the creative process. Gather insight from notable designers in various field, learn the commonality amongst designers across industries (including food!), and connect with other like-minded members of Philadelphia's diverse creative community.

BLURRING BOUNDARIES / multi-disciplinary design for food & culture experiences -  Thomas Jefferson University

Fusions of creative practitioners working together frequently blur the disciplinary boundaries in branding, interiors, architecture, and graphic design. In this panel discussion, we'll hear perspectives on interdisciplinary design processes and case studies from creative professionals working in these spaces, focusing on food and culture experiences.
