Design Revolution Goes Underground: 2026 DesignPhiladelphia Festival

This October, DesignPhiladelphia is collaborating with SEPTA and additional partners to activate Suburban Station and the Walnut–Locust Concourse into destinations for design and engagement during the 2026 DesignPhiladelphia Festival.

From October 1-11, these highly traveled public spaces will become home to exhibitions, installations, marketplaces, discussions, and interactive experiences that help us imagine how these unassuming spaces — known mostly for a quick coffee or a bacon, egg, and cheese on the way to work — could rival the quality of a public space like Dilworth Park, perched directly above Suburban Station and the subway below.

Stay tuned and reach out to trebor@designphiladelphia.org if you have an idea to temporarily activate Suburban Station or Walnut-Locust Concourse. We may be able to include in the festivities.
