Completion Date: Ongoing

The Green Lane Park Master Plan is the result of a year-long planning process that included natural resource, ecological, and facility analysis; extensive public involvement, including public meetings and an online survey; and the consideration of alternative strategies to preserve, protect, and enhance the many habitats and recreational opportunities in this iconic, 3,400-acre park. Green Lane Park is built around a massive, dammed lake and accounts for over 50% of Montgomery County's total park land! Proposed improvements include new identities for smaller areas of this giant Park, expanded ADA accessibility, a new visitor's center, expansion of protected wildlife habitats, restoration of degraded trails and the development of new trails, the acquisition or protection of 562 acres of adjacent properties to protect the Park, as well as redesigned maintenance and operational procedures identities not only assist visitors with wayfinding, but also help them choose the right location for the types of experiences they want to have in the Park - from birding in the Perkiomen Grasslands or boating at the Walt Landings & Water Resource Area to environmental education at Hemlock Point and sporting in the Green Lane Park Recreation Core. Partners: Resource Environmental Solutions, Seiler+Drury Architecture, Patrick Stasio CPRP
