"For designers in our city, DesignPhiladelphia has facilitated exposure and connection to a broad array of design conversations and activations," Jacobson explains The festival has given designers a unique opportunity to present their work, collaborate,and educate on diverse design ideas, processes, and projects.

Beyond the design community, DesignPhiladelphia engages a wider audience, encouraging people from all walks of life to connect with design - whether as a passion, a partnership, or even a potential career path Jacobson describes the festival as "great fun," providing a platform for designers and makers across the city to reach new audiences.

On a personal level, DesignPhiladelphia continues to inspire Jacobson and remind him of the far-reaching impact of design. "Being exposed close up to creators in our city brings me joy and reassurance that designers are solving problems and making things better," he says Reflecting on his own experience, Jacobson fondly recalls collaborating with Ery McHenry Architects to create an exhibit throughout his 4th and Brown Street offices, which strengthened professional and personal bonds.

Looking ahead, Jacobson hopes to see the festival continue to champion the value of design in improving lives and building community.
