Meet the Speaker
John Wind is a Philadelphia-based fashion jewelry designer and mixed media artist. His signature “Maximal Art” found-object collage brooches and bracelets (with then business partner Hilary Jay) came to define the 80s and anticipate Steampunk. Since then, John has continually innovated and reinvented both his brand and business model—for many years working with company president Robbin Cook. They sold to thousands of wholesale gift and fashion accounts, along with extensive private label for Anthropologie, Disney and others. Today, John Wind Jewelry is a direct to consumer, online brand focusing on personalized and limited edition jewelry designs. Wind has been featured extensively in the press, and his work is in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and the Musée des Arts Decoratifs, Paris. John also maintains an active studio art practice, and is the president of the Dina Wind Art Foundation.
