African American Museum of Philadelphia and DesignPhiladelphia's Design Education programs present a FREE workshop for families ages 7-17 years old. Children will learn how to create their own unique portrait using a variety of materials, including colored paper, fabric, magazine cut outs, and textures. Inspired by the exhibition on view at AAMP, Shared Vision: Portraits from The CCH Pounder-Koné Collection families will tour the gallery and build their projects with skilled instructors while exploring the basics of collage art and how to express their personalities through colors, shapes, and patterns. By the end of the workshop, each child will have their own vibrant, one-of-a-kind portrait to take with them.
