MGA Partners is pleased to present a video installation by Gilberto López-Elías, a new project inspired by the billboards, rail catenary systems and rooflines of post-industrial Philadelphia. Captured in silhouettes and moving images, the rhythmic sequences conceived by López-Elías suggest a cinematic assembly line of industrial equipment and structures in continuous operation. Visible at night, the installation will be projected on MGA's studio windows facing Market Street. The artist based in Guanajuato, Mexico devises layered and animated video pieces from his own graphic print work and photographs. López-Elías received his MFA from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University and teaches at the University of Guanajuato. The artist's work has been exhibited in Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Miami and Philadelphia. MGA Partners is a nationally recognized firm distinguished for architecture that is considered, crafted and resonant with its place. Over the past thirty years, the focus of our practice has been for respected public and private institutions. Our work is collaborative, seeking fresh ideas drawn from the people and circumstances of each project--establishing our long tradition of making lasting contributions to urban and campus spaces, improving the quality of community through our planning and architecture.
