The Philadelphia Design District is presenting "The Art of Resilience", a pop-up installation in a vacant store front at 138 North 3rd Street. The installation will feature work and wares from PDD members Allure, Biello Martin Studio, Kellijane, Parisa Rugs & Decor, Pentimenti Gallery, Petit Jardin en Ville, Roche Bobois, and Tommi Mischell- K Gallery Art & Design. Collaboratively designed by the Board, the members and leadership from Tommi Mishcell of K Gallery Art & design. PDD chose to focus its installation on resilience to honor the lives and businesses lost to the pandemic while also envisioning the future. Inspired by notions of hope, love and peaceful feelings a chapel-like space induces, the installation will serve as a portal from the outside world into a beautiful, safe and reflective interior one. It will provide passersby the chance to breathe, reflect, remember and imagine. Housed inside a vacant space, the installation will also serve as a reminder of the transformative power of design.
"The Art of Resilience" will be on display beginning October 7th at 138 North 3rd Street.
